First: Which Stream Should You Pick?
Before diving into individual careers, here is the most important thing you need to understand: streams in India are far more flexible than you've been told. Science → Engineering → Software is not the only path to a good life. 02. Medicine & Healthcare

The days when law was seen as a "backup" career are over — top law graduates from NLUs regularly earn ₹20–30 LPA at their first job.
Law in India can be pursued through two main routes: a 5-year integrated BA LLB or BBA LLB right after Class 12, or a 3-year LLB after a bachelor's degree. The 5-year integrated route from a National Law University (NLU) via CLAT is by far the most prestigious and career-accelerating path.

No other career in India offers this combination of authority, purpose, and lifetime security.
The path is honest and hard: a graduation degree (any stream), followed by one of the toughest examinations in the world — UPSC CSE — which has roughly a 0.1% selection rate. But the preparation itself makes you an exceptional human being: you will read history, economics, governance, science, ethics, and current affairs at a depth most people never experience.
